Sleeping arrangements are in the recently built, modern grammar school, Safrankova Skola, which from it’s hilltop perch looks down at the ArtMill. Children are chapearoned by 2 counselors and one adult, with a doctor present at all times. Art Mill’s minivan delivers children to and from the sleeping dorms each day: a 3 minute drive. Weather permitting, it is a lovely walk through the forest and around the lake. Breakfast and dinner are cafeteria style by professional cooks, at Safrankova School. Lunches are served outdoors at ArtMill, with fresh garden food that the children help pick each day. Daily classes are at the ArtMill, where children are in contact with Ms. Benish’s atelier and gallery, the fields for herb picking and playing, the lake for swimming and forests to hike in. Outings are planned to the nearby castle of Rabi, a renovated 12th century fortress just 8 kilometers from the Red Mill, or to Muzeum Horazdovice, a former Kinsky family chateau.
